All of our clinics
offer in-depth Wendelstedt Umpire School training materials and
instruction.
Each course will be divided between
classroom and field work sessions; each containing specific
content for the individual clinic based on recommendations of
the hosts and attendees.
Classroom sessions are filled with detailed and comprehensive
instruction in umpire mechanics, procedures, and rules and
interpretations. Classroom
instruction will also include daily class competitions, open
forum discussions, and video review rap sessions. Specific areas
of instruction might include:

Field
training is filled with a wide range of instruction for both
plate and base work, and includes extensive and individual cage
instruction.
Even before entering the pitching
machine, students will be instructed on the proper wearing, and
options, of protective equipment.
Each student’s plate stance and
mechanics will be reviewed, and will include evaluations in the
key areas of consistent plate work. Recommendations will be made to each umpire
to make them the most accurate and consistent ball/strike
umpire they can be.
Determining and developing the
strike zone and learning to accurately judge and call check
swings will be thoroughly reviewed.

All instructors on the Wendelstedt Clinic
Circuit include instructors of the school’s five-week
professional school, current professional umpires, and others
specifically selected by Harry and Hunter Wendelstedt for their
umpiring knowledge, communication skills, and instructional
abilities.

The Wendelstedt staff is available for professional clinics during the
months of October, November, February, and March. Cost for 2, 3, and 5
day clinics vary due to travel expenses of staff to your area. Individual
